Mary Evangeliste

Mary Evangeliste has over 15 years of experience in fine arts and in libraries. She has taught, lectured, and presented in the areas of art history, librarianship, and marketing for local and national groups that include the State Department, Maryland School of Art and Design, Prince George’s Community College, University of Pittsburgh, LAMA, ACRL, and ALA. Presently she is the co-founder of Fearless Future and the Director of User Services & Outreach at Gettysburg College. She holds a B.A. in Art History from Allegheny College and a M.L.I.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Mary has held positions at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, The Smithsonian, The National Gallery of Art, American University Library, and the University of Arizona Libraries. This combined love of art and libraries necessitated a move toward learning about and developing marketing events and campaigns for libraries. Mary has been honored with two national library marketing awards: 3M Check-it-out Yourself Day and ACRL’s 2005 Best Practices in Marketing Academic and Research Libraries @your library® Award.

Jonathan Silberman

Jonathan Silberman

Graphic Designer

Jonathan Silberman is an award-winning graphic designer with over 10 years of experience. Before co-founding his design and marketing consulting firm with his business partner Mary Evangeliste, he worked as a freelance designer. His experience as the designer at American University Library was honored by ACRL with the 2005 Best Practices in Marketing Academic and Research Libraries @your library® Award. In this position, Jonathan has been fundamental in creating three very successful comprehensive marketing campaigns. Jonathan began his design career designing websites for ThomasRegister.com, a business search engine, at a small design firm in Chattanooga, TN. Since those early years, he has honed his design skills further by transitioning into print design.In the past two years, Jonathan’s designs have been used in international and national library presentations on marketing such as IFLA, ACRL, LAMA, and ALA. His dedication to creating designs for non-profits and libraries has been celebrated by his contemporaries in the design world as is evident by his featured interview in the May 2006 volume of one the top graphic design publications, Print.

Chief Finanical Officer – Fearless Future

Howard finds solace by hunkering down and sorting out the books for Fearless Future. As boring as dealing with numbers sounds don’t feel too bad for Howard, he got all his kicks out of the way in his former life as a cultural ambassador to Japan and a contracts administrator for the Associated Press.

Yvonne Mery

Workshop Coordinator – Fearless Future

Yvonne is currently an assistant librarian at the University of Arizona where she recently completed her MLS. Before becoming a librarian Yvonne worked in the non-profit world where she developed and managed educational programs for Hispanic youth. As a non-profit program developer, Yvonne developed marketing plans, designed materials, and conducted community outreach. She has also taught composition and Spanish and given workshops into learning styles and their application to adult teaching. In addition to her MLS, Yvonne also holds an MA in Applied Linguistics and a BA in English Literature. Yvonne has conducted extensive research into social marketing and believes in the power of marketing social causes to change ourselves and our world for the greater good.

Malia Gonzalez

Intern – Fearless Future

Malia is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona where she is pursuing a double major in French and Near Eastern Studies with a focus in Arabic. This past summer Malia studied abroad in Paris and had an opportunity to visit most of France, Ireland, England and Germany. She has always shown an interest in design and marketing. She has a great interest in digital photography, striking ad campaigns and just all around original design. Working for Fearless Future will give her an opportunity to be surrounded by these aspects and all other levels of marketing.
